22Jan14 - 2014 Flying Stars Guide

It has been a super busy month in 2014! Finally have a little time to share with everyone
about the Flying Stars for 2014. Flying Star Feng Shui chart maps out the distribution of energy in each of the nine sectors, usually referred to as the nine palaces of the home.

The energy changes every year, on the first day of Spring, also known as 'Lap Chun' 立春.

It is advised to take care of the negative stars first, then improve on boosting of the good stars.
The flying stars apply to the space, as well as the door facing direction. So for example if you
have a room in the SouthWest space, and have a door facing North (Standing inside the room seeing out). You have to take care of both the SouthWest and North Flying Stars.

In 2014, the ruling number is 4, so its a good sign as 4 is an auspicious numbers
that signifies good relationships and education luck!

The Negative Stars

#2 Illness Star - East
The Black Illness Star #2 brings sickness and illness. If you are facing East, you
should place metal cures in the afflicted area. Its not advisable to stay in bedroom
in the East area. Brass and obsidian hulou are good remedies to weaken this star

#3 Hostile/Quarrelsome Star - SouthEast
This star brings quarrels, misunderstanding and aggravations to the house. Try to keep
this area quiet and avoid renovation as not to activate its ill effects. This area also affects
the first daughter and those born in the year of Snake and Dragon. You will lose temper easily
and find it hard to communicate well with others. The color Red is good to subdue this Wood star and items like Peace and Harmony Amulet, Double Pyramid Red Goddess Mirror will help
bring this Star under control.

#5 Yellow Misfortune Star - NorthWest
The Wu Huang, is one of the most feared Star as it brings misfortune and bad luck. Last year it
was in the centre of the house and it affected everyone. Leave this area quiet, no renovation
and place cures to neutralize it. The patriarch, those born in the year of Dog and Boar, main door facing or people sleeping in this sector will feel the impact of this star. Metal is a good
cure such as 5-elements pagoda, brass wind-chime, singing bowl. They will weakness the Earth energy.

#7 Violent Star - NorthEast
This star brings theft, burglary and violence. You will be vulnerable to cheats and money loss. It could also bring injuries and bloodshed in serious cases. The youngest daughter, those born in the year of Ox and Tiger, people sleeping in the bedroom in NE, or main door facing this direction, you must be extra cautious and be more alert. To subdue this Red Star, water cures
such as Sodalite Rhino and Elephants and Eight Petal Lotus Mirror of Manjushri should be placed in the area or carried around.


The Prosperous Stars

#1 Victory Star - SouthWest
This White Star #1 brings good mentor luck and career luck. Business owners will have better victory luck in their competitive pursuits. The Matriarch of the house, those born in the Sheep and Monkey will benefit more from this lucky star. Items to boost this star include Victory Banner, Figurines of horses,  Wind horse.

#4 Romance Star - Centre
This is both the Romance and Academic Star, meaning it helps both relationships and academic achievements. 
For those who likes to improve on romance, rose quartz, mandarin ducks figurines and double-happiness symbols are good to have.
For academic boost, Globes and Pagoda are good.

#6 Heavenly Star - West
This luckly Star brings prosperity luck, as well as power and authority luck. The youngest daughter, and those born in the year of Monkey, Dog and Rooster and those staying in this area will benefit from this star. To activate this star, use Metal or Earth energy, such as coins,
crystals and amulet. 

#8 Wealth Star - South
The luckiest Star of 2014, it improves income and wealth luck. The middle daughter, those born in the year of Snake, Horse and Sheep or sleeping in this area will benefit from this star the most. Earth energy will activate this star, especially Citrine crystal which is the stone of the period of 8. Display the number '8' symbols, citrine money tree, 5 element hulou in this area.

#9 Future Prosperity Star - NorthThis star brings future prosperity. It is also a star of completion and magnifying. Its help important projects started to a successful conclusion. It will also strengthens the effects of the luck of the monthly flying star, both good and bad. The middle son, those both in year of Rat, Ox or Boar, and those staying in this area, will bring long term benefits for the success in the future.

01Nov13 - Himalayan Sea Salt

Himalayan sea salt

A form of rock salt, It is mined in the Khewra Salt Mines, the second largest salt mine in the world, located in Khewra, Jhelum District, Punjab, Pakistan, about 300 km from the Himalayas, about 160 kilometres from Islamabad, and 260 kilometres from Lahore, and in the foothills of the Salt Range. The salt sometimes comes out in a reddish or pink color, with some crystals having an off-white to transparent color.

Agarwood

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Agarwood, also known as oud, oodh or agar, is a dark resinous heartwood that forms in Aquilaria and Gyrinops trees (large evergreens native to southeast Asia) when they become infected with a type of mould. Prior to infection, the heartwood is relatively light and pale coloured; however, as the infection progresses, the tree produces a dark aromatic resin in response to the attack, which results in a very dense, dark, resin embedded heartwood. The resin embedded wood is commonly called gaharu, jinko, aloeswood, agarwood, or oud (not to be confused with 'Bakhoor') and is valued in many cultures for its distinctive fragrance, and thus is used for incense and perfume.

One of the main reasons for the relative rarity and high cost of agarwood is the depletion of the wild resource. Since 1995 Aquilaria malaccensis, the primary source, has been listed in Appendix II (potentially threatened species) by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

 In 2004 all Aquilaria species were listed in Appendix II; however, a number of countries have outstanding reservations regarding that listing.

Oud oil can be distilled from agarwood using steam, the total yield of agarwood (Oud) oil for 70 kg of wood will not exceed 20 ml.

Yesterday I made a crystal essence with my rose quartz, will use it to spray around the house to
bless it with love.

The basic principle behind the use of gem essences is the interaction of water and sunlight with the essential energy of crystals charges the water in which crystals are placed with their subtle energy. When you drink this water, that energy works to dissolve the blockages which promote the persistence of painful emotions and prevent personal and spiritual growth.

The Pixiu (or PiYao) is a Chinese mythical hybrid creature considered to be an auspicious creature that possessed mystical powers capable of drawing wealth luck from all directions. He is believed to be the ninth offspring of the Celestial Dragon King and has a big appetite for gold and silver which he brings to his master. He is perceived to be a strong and fierce creature who protects his master from any bad luck or illnesses.

They are best shown sitting on chinese coins to signify your fortune being protected, thus making it a wealth enhancer as well. Many people prefer using the Pi Yao over Chi Lin because the Pi Yao does not have an anus and only eats but does not dispose. It has a big and infinite appetite. For the naturally greedy businessmen and merchants or housewives out there, if you intend to only have lots of money luck coming in and ensure the money never be spent, the Pi Yao is what you are looking for. The Pi Yao is also known to be very obedient to their owners as they are loyal in nature.

Pixiu should be placed lower than the eye level of the tallest family member as it is not considered as a deity. You can placed it facing the front door or windows for good health and wealth. To use it as a feng shui cure, have it directly facing the ailment.

They are not suitable to be placed in bedrooms, kitchen and toilet.

15Jun13 - 6 Coins Hulu

The six coins hulu with obsidian hulu is a good a charm for protection and negative energy absorbing. It is best to hang it on the front door (inside of it) , carry it along side or place it in your car.

It is advised to change it annually every lunar new year, or you feel that the charm have

deteriorated. It has been working hard to help absorb the negative energy and you should
let it rest.

29May13 - Four No-s of wearing crystal jewelries

Four No-s of wearing crystals

1.Overkill. If you are wearing a very big pendant or luxurious necklace, you should go simple on your crystal earrings. Just like if you are wearing a lot of crystal bracelets, you can choose a smaller pendant.

2.Wearing crystal on the ankles. Wearing crystals on the toes or ankles are pretty muc   redundant and not much effective

3.Too many rings. A big crystal ring should be wore alone. You can wear a few smaller ones, but they should be limited to middle to last finger.

4.Wearing day crystal jewelries for evening events. You should put on a different set of jewelries for evening or special events, something more details and extravaganza.

    Choose the appropriate jewelries for each events

09Mar13 - Insomnia Quick Fix

If you are having problem sleeping at night, maybe you can try to
place a cup of cold water beside your bed.
According to traditional fengshui, insomnia or bad quality of sleep
is caused by excess fire energy in the head or head of the bed,
thus the mind and body is unable to cool down.
So by putting a cup of cold water near the headboard, it helps
to cool down the mind. Ceramic or any earth material cup will be
ideal.

Previously we talked about the five elements, Fire, Earth, Water, Metal and Wood and how they
form a constructive cycle.

Today we will talk about what crystals represent each element and how they affect us.

White(clear) - Metal Element

Snake Year as a "Year of Correction", as we will go through experiences like “labour pains” before scaling greater heights. Expected in 2013 are vibrant and steep conditions with mixed sentiments.There will be lots of changes and surprises to be seen in all fields. Legacy and traditional products, services or even the usual ways of operation in various aspectsof life such as politics and socio-economy, relationship, thinking methods, amongst others,will be replaced by new and more creative methods and inventions.

In this Correction Year, people will need to gather greater wisdom, knowledge and to leverage on other people’s strengths and resources, in order to filter good opportunities from risks.

Earth element will be strong this year so properties and construction business will continue to
to bull while Metal element might be weak and suffer losses, like gold, mining and banking sectors.

To increase the earth element, you can use more yellow crystals like citrine, yellow topaz and ammonites. (generally all crystals contain earth element as they were dug from the earth itself)
To encourage growth of earth element, you can increase fire element using red crystals like
garnet, red corals, rubies, etc.

 The inner cavity of the agate geodes are lined with a druze of sparkling clear crystals. Agate geodes are formed in volcanic lava which contain gas bubbles filled with water that slowly transform into quartz. I have received a couple of questions our from readers so I would like to share with you all too!

Q: Should I wear my crystal bracelets on my left hand or right?

- There have always been this saying 'left hand in, out hand out' The left hand will absorb the energies from the crystals while the right hand will expend energy. So the magnetic field around human body goes in from the left hand while goes out from the right hand.
Generally most of the crystals like citrine, amethyst, moonstone, rose quartz are wore on the left hand so you can harness the energies they give out.
Crystals like obsidian, jet and smoky quartz, wore on the right hand will help adsorb negative energies from your body and offer protection against harm.

    Citrine for left hand or right hand? Depends on what you want!

Do you have a bad habit of throwing away the last mouthful of water in your cup or a can or packet drink?

No matter how full you poured, you tend to just throw away the last mouthful?

Then you might be throwing away your very own wealth!

Singing bowls (also known as Tibetan Singing Bowls, rin gongs, Himalayan bowls or suzu gongs) are a type of bell, specifically classified as a standing bell. Rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, singing bowls sit with the bottom surface resting. Some of you asked what are the usage of the chips, so I did two
simple mini wealth pots:

A simple tea cup with citrine chips, trinity coin and an ammonite. 
Ammonite reflects the seven colors of rainbow, also representing the chakra.
So it produces and nurtures all good energies whether it is wealth, health, relationship or self-being.

place it inside too!

Here is another simple setup with heart shaped rose quartz, rose quartz chips,

20Mar13 - A little saving a day

A while ago, I placed this cute piggy bank (as mouse is my ally) at the wealth corner of my
room. Every day when I come back I will drop 50 cents into it.

Today the piggy bank is full so I have to open it up and was surprised to

find that I have save almost $30, that means I saved about 2 months.

Although it is only a small amount, it teaches us that wealth is accumulated,
and by saving a small amount a day, it adds up to a bigger amount.

Same as health and luck, doing a bit of good things and a bit of exercises help
accumulate good health and luck. 

Putting a piggy bank at the wealth corner and regularly saving money will help increase the energy flow here and keep the wealth flowing in! woo hoo!

     Make a good habit to save! 


Where is the wealth corner many ask... Generally the wealth direction is Northeast,
but a simple direction to locate your room's wealth corner would be the corner furthest
away from the door. That usually means the adjacent corner to the door.

What should we put at the wealth corner? We will touch on that again I guess ;)

Be frugal and make your every dollar worth its value!

Wu Lou (bottle gourd) originates from a fruit.
When dried, it is very durable and its shape render it useful as a receptacle for medicine.

The Wulou was often carried by aged people as a charm of longevity and a charm to dissipate or ward off pernicious influences. The Wulou, like baguas and windchimes, is one of the most significant tools to cure many bad situations and enhance our Feng Shui. It is the powerful symbol of health and longevity.

Many deities like the Sau Sing Kung (in 3 Lucky Stars Fuk Luk Sau), Li Tieh Kuai (in 8 Immortals) and Mad Monk God (Chai Kung) carry this excellent item with them to resemble their blessings to cure difficult ailment. 

Some said the shape of the wulou is also a wonderful integration of heaven, earth and mankind. Deities and taoist monks even use the Wu Lou to absorb bad evil spirits into it for imprisonment. Therefore Wu Lou has the potency to absorb bad chi and negative energy.

Wu Lou in its natural form is better than imitations from other materials. Unless it is made by potent material like metal or crystal which plays a significant role in maneuvering chi of our surrounding. To activate a wulou for feng shui purposes, it is essential to tie either a red thread or red ribbon around its "valley". Some natural wulou is even painted gold or added with special coins to absorb wealth luck. It becomes even more powerful when tied with red string and Chinese coin around it. What is more, some taoist masters write talisman and bagua onto the wulou for added protection and attracting some special luck.

    The shape of wulou also resemble the number 8.

Wu Lou has many uses as cure and enhancer: 

1. Display a wu lou in any part of your homes (as many as you can afford) to create good health and bring in good fortune and dissolving negative energy (chi). 

2. Display or hang two wu lous (either in its natural form or made from metal) on both sides of the bed to heal ailments/sickness and rejuvanate the energy of sick people to quicken recovery

. 
3. Display or hang a wu lou in the bedroom (or by the bed) to ensure any health problems is prevented. Prevention is better than cure! 

4. Display a wu lou in the kitchen to activate health luck for the family as it ensures only healthy food is produced in our kitchens which is the source of health for the family. 

5. Display the wu lou in the east sector of our living rooms, family rooms and dining for good health of the entire family. 

6. Wu Lou (crystal or brass) is an excellent gift for old people during their birthdays to wish them long life, good health and longevity.

 
7. Displaying a wu lou on the desk or at your workplace ensures bad chi which could harm you be dissolved. 

8. Hang a wu lou in your car to prevent accidents and absorb any poison and killing chi. It prevents dirty energy from sticking to your car or follow you home too. 

9. Display a wu lou at where you spend most of your time if there is a series of bad luck exerted on you. It will absorb bad energy (chi) and turn it into good fortune to you.
